Jooyeon Park
Jooyeon Park (b. 1972 Seoul) studied in London, receiving an MA from St. Martins College University of the Arts and a BA from Goldsmiths College. Her inter-disciplinary art practice oscillates between the limits and potentials of language. Her works concerning the transliteration and rendition of meanings strive for new understandings in the invisible relations, finding ways to give visual forms for such unformulated experiences. The execution of the works, often omitting the unnecessary segments until there is only the very core is left, implicate layers of meanings in a very simple implementation.

Selected exhibitions include Insa Art Space, Art Council Korea, Seoul (2008); Rodin Gallery, Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul (2007); Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Centre, Istanbul (2007); Busan Biennale (2006); Akiyoshidai International Art Village, Yamaguchi, Japan (2005) and Gwangju Biennale (2004). Jooyeon Park lives and works in Seoul.
