Sora Kim
Sora Kim (b. 1965 Seoul) studied at Seoul National University and finished her studies at École Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Kim intervenes in the process where 'meaning' and 'value' are defined, formed, and communicated within a social system. In order to expose this process, she uses a conceptual strategy of 'recycling'. Her conceptual scheme involves a participatory process in which viewers come to reorient their fixed notions of values, structure and systems of society. Her works have been exhibited in the 1999 Asian Exhibition at the Mattress Factory Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, the Archivo Attivo Arte Contemporanea Carbognano in Italy, Art Cologne Koln Messe in Frankfurt, the Gwangju Biennale in Korea, and the Espai d'Art Contemporain de Castelloó in Spain. She is represented by Kukje Gallery in Seoul. Sora Kim lives and works in Seoul and New York.
